Sentinel Town PDF photo journal – see attached B. While there are many issues currently affecting Sentinel Town, I would say one of the most prominent is Obesity. I feel like obesity is a concern for all the citizens of this community, but I will be focusing on Adult Obesity with an emphasis on prevention of obesity through healthy nutrition and physical activity. Risk for obesity among community members related to sedentary lifestyle, poor dietary habits, lack of exercise and poor healthy food options as demonstrated by delayed fresh produce deliveries due to poor road conditions, one playground located at the trailer park, and lack of education on healthy diets and required exercise in Sentinel Town to maintain or lose weight. B1. Due in large to the location of Sentinel Town being a rural area, it was mentioned that the residents dont always have the things they need, mostly fresh fruits and vegetables. The concern of obesity is also linked to the lack of exercise, no organized recreation centers, no walking paths/sidewalks, and limited choices on healthy food choices. It is estimated that about greater than ½ of the residents of Sentinel Town are overweight or borderline obese, and approximately 78% of the residents in Sentinel Town are 18 years of age or older.
