IT 331 Applied activity Website Evaluation 2-2 Applied Activity: Website Evaluation IT-331 Human Factor in Info Tech The website I have chosen for this activity is www.worlds-worst-website.com/( ... World's Worst Website. 2020). While exploring this website, I noticed that there are numerous links and pictures that take you to different websites. Upon entering this site, I couldn™t help but being reminded of the old social media program Myspace. I remember trying to sift through countless pictures and links and feeling very overwhelmed. This practice of œmore is better is in direct contrast to Ben Schneiderman™s eight golden rules of interface (Santos, A. ,2018).These rules are Strive for Consistency, enable frequent users to use shortcuts, offer informative feedback, design dialog to yield closure, offer simple error handling, permit easy reversal of actions, support internal locus of control andreduce short-term memory load. This website follows none of these rules. This website is like a circus, where everything is happening at once and the lights and colors and noise just serve to increase the confusion. Simply pasting buttoned links and picture on the home screen is not a good way to design your website. It looks like there was an attempt to line up picture links, but this failed because the pictures were different sizes, and some of them didn™t load at all.Background colors should be soft and easy on the eyes, like pastels, and not glaring distractions. The fonts and color scheme show no consistency at all.
