NCLEX and HESI use the sc... ope of practice when writing test questions! Medication administration (PO, SQ, IM, IV, Suppository)  No IV push medications  No blood products  Nothing through a central line Can hang IV antibiotics and fluids  No chemotherapy or TPN Data collection on patients Monitoring for changes in condition  Must report all changes to RN---MOST COMMON MISSED ITEMS!!!!! Check Vital Signs Wound care and sterile dressing changes  No central line dressing changes Specimen collection  Not through a central line Urinary catheter insertion and care, suctioning Ostomy site care and maintenance Finger stick blood sugar testing Take stable client assignments  If unstable or complicated ( ICU, continuous medication drips, acute) RN is assigned Focused assessments  No new admissions or comprehensive assessments  Cannot write nursing diagnosis!!!!
