C913 Task 1 .docx Psychology for Educators-C913 Task 1 A. Video Observation- Attached in separate document B1. (Case #403) Applying Momentum While Learning and Practicing the Vertical Jump The teacher in this video used demonstration learning and instructing with using their own bodies. The class is held in a gym and it allows the students to have the space and room needed for the lesson. The teacher demonstrates a vertical jump and how to use your whole body and has the students go through the steps of jumping. The students were able to practice a few times before the teacher shows a video on how to jump vertically. Later the in the video the students were at different stations, jumping off a step to help with landing, jump in place for height using a marker, balloons were hung on a rope that students jumped for and using a sticky note to mark their favorite sport by jumping to reaching the picture. B1a. Applying momentum while learning the vertical jump was effective because the students were able to do the motion and to learn how to safely perform how to jump and land properly. The students were able to put use the knowledge they were taught on momentum and use that by jumping and learned that when you squatted and used your arms to help jump the higher you jumped and then not using the proper jumping form. The learning environment was beneficial for the students as they had the whole gym to use to practice jumping and the other students were encouraging the others. B1b.
