Individual Course Project Part 4 Peer Review.docx MIS540 Individual Course Project: Part 4 MIS540 Reaction to the innovation idea The cleaning robot is a great idea for the service industry. The project points out several opportunities that highlight safety and elimination of mundane tasks, which are both excellent areas for improvement in any industry, Review of the technology applied The project requires the use of robotic technology, and the idea is to build a prototype using an iterative approach that will help ensure that both user and business requirements are met. The operational environment will include engineers, manufacturing, technical support, and parts. Comments on potential technical and/or business issues The first potential issue is that the project does not indicate how the project may be funded and sustained. There is an outline provided for an ideal profit margin, but with no specific company selected per the project requirements, it is hard to determine whether that budget is realistic. The cost analysis is very vague as is the profit margin. The second potential issue piggy backs off the first one, in that there is no specific company that this project is being pitched to. It is written for an entire industry instead. Strengths of the paper The details for what the robot will be capable of are very thorough. Reading through the business opportunity section gives me a clear vision and expectation for this innovative idea, which is excellent. The technical integration is also detailed and real. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
