Data Collection.docx ECE 660 Data Collection, Instruments, and Procedures University of Arizona Global Campus ECE 660 Data Collection- Qualitative One qualitative instrument I will be using for data collection is implementing observations. This instrument is significant to use for my type of intervention as is clear and simple when collecting and gathering data. Observations will be used during certain meetings and events as I am able to see if the parents are progressing with their understanding. I will be able to see who comes to the parent night, who answers their emails or phone for conferences, and who helps the child with the activities sent home. I will also observe the students in the classroom and seeing how parent involvement impacts them. I can then compare statistics to the students whose parents are involved to the parents who are not involved. Seeing the parents who might not be involved will have me work harder to find better ways I am able to help and give them proper resources. Data Collection- Quantitative One quantitative instrument I will be using for data collection is implementing attitude scales. I will use attitude scales as this instrument will better help me understand where the parent™s viewpoints and mindset are on being involved. Attitude scales will also help me understand ways that I can better improve myself as an educator in finding ways to help them understand the benefits.
