The local television station WBLAH has claimed the content inappropriate for children viewing and rejected CARDWARE Inc. the right to broadcast their product utilizing their media service. Texas State Law and the First Amendment The First Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees the freedom of expression by preventing Congress from limiting the press or the rights of persons to speak freely. Freedom of speech has been acknowledged as a basic human right allowing individuals to free expression without interference by the government, as long as the expression is truthful or is founded by an honest opinion. Freedom of the press is a constitutional liberty guaranteeing individuals to free speech via the media as part of the same fundamental freedom that safeguards expression. (US Legal., n.d.).
