We employ a vast and diverse group of individuals, many of whom will have different races and ethnicities, physical disabilities, pregnant women, and others who will be over the age of 50. To help ensure their value and safety at Amazon, I will be analyzing three different legal concepts that could be used as I put in place new employee policies. These concepts will include acts from the Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, such as the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. As the head of the Human Resources department, managing employees is a core job description, as such, it is imperative to comply with laws that oversee employees rights. The Equal Employment Opportunity laws protect employees from discrimination against race or ethnicity, religion, gender, pregnancy, or disability (CITEBOOK). As a professional in human resources, it is important to be familiar with all of these acts that help to protect different groups of people.
