There are about 1,000 residents living within a mile of the site due to the inclusion of residential homes and apartment complexes bordering the entire south and east sides. I am specifically analyzing the water pollution in the Bayou Meto Watershed and surrounding rivers, creeks, and lakes near the Vertac Site. I chose this site of water pollution for my paper because growing up in rural Arkansas, near the Vertac Site, my grandparents and their friends always told me to stay out of the water because it would make me sick.
