Task 1 C228 C228 Task 1 C228 Community Health and Population Western Governors University Needs Assessment Sentinel City hits the real-life society that we live in every day and things that need tobe improved to make the city better for all citizens, in all neighborhoods. Sentinel City should attempt to lessen the gap between the different areas. The uninsured gap and median income status differ extremely from Nightingale Square to Industrial Heights. I assessed each area of the city with the tools given to gather information on what was needed. The tools that were used were the Demographics Tool, the Neighborhood Safety Assessment Tool, the Population Health Scavenger Hunt Tool, and the Windshield Survey. I saw what was going on in each town for issues like drug addiction, homelessness, and teen pregnancies. I was also able to observe that many of the residents are struggling with depression and have a history of mental health. The situation was clear to understand that there is no program for every citizens needs to accommodate their mental capacity. Specific individuals need the capability of having an inpatient facility, but in Sentinel City, all of the treatment centers are outpatient centers, and that does not always work with all substance abusers.
