WK7Assign1 Cultural Event .docx SOCW 6051 Cultural Event Project Progress SOCW 6051: Diversity, Human Rights, and Social Justice Walden University   Cultural Event Project Progress I hav... e chosen to attend the 4th Annual MLK Teach-in as my cultural event for this presentation assignment. This teach-in will revisit how Dr. King's spirituality and political views overlapped and offer instruction on political action away from the roads. Commitment on the heritage of Dr. Kings legacy of political affairs and demonstration brace up by his confidence. This teach-in will also offer guidance on how to take part in change developing approaches for an improved America. The event will take place virtually on Facebook Live, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11 AM- 12:30 PM. At the time Dr. King was around there was more well-known segregation for people of color. My experience as an African American female is different is from my parents and family members who came before me. With discrimination being brought back up in recent years, I believe it for us to revisit some of Dr. Kings legacy to move forward in the positive direction. Normally, the challenge I face with cultural assignments or any assignment for that matter is condensing what I want to say down to give the listener or the reader not too much information. When writing about something that personally of my interest I tend to want to go overboard. Learning new and inviting way to deal with discrimination in this day in age.
