Identify a nursing theory that has influenced your values and goals. Its difficult to choose only one nursing theory that influences my values and goals. They have all impacted the scope and care I provide to my patients. I have to say the solid foundations laid forth by Florence Nightingales Environmental Theory and Hildegard Peplaus Theory of Interpersonal Relations have given life to my values and goals (Petiprin, 2016ab). Other theorists have expounded on various elements of these theories, but these women were pioneers and set forth the ground work for safe and patient-centered nursing care today.
