Simple Harmonic Motion LAB REPORT

Document Content and Description Below

Report for Experiment #13 Simple Harmonic Motion Lauren Javan Lab Partner: Olivia Taylor TA: Matthew Matzelle January 17, 2017 Abstract The motion of a glider attached to two springs on an air ... track is observed in this experiment. When the glider is displaced from its equilibrium position the glider will oscillate. The glider’s position is recorded by a sensor and with the data the components of oscillating motion can be found. This experiment also explores the effect that various amounts of damping forces, created by magnets, have on oscillating motion. The more magnets placed on the glider, the more damping forces there were that increased the period of the graphs that were plotted with the position data. Introduction [Show More]
