CS204_U6_Assignment.docx Unit 6 Assignment Purdue University Global Unit 6 Assignment Slide #2 Almost one year ago this summer I decided to leave a company where I spent nearly twenty years. I started on the factory floor and eventually became the Continuous Improvement manager. Its from this experience that I am choosing my former company and not the current one to make my observation.My observation will be from the viewpoint of an employee. The organizations name is Setex Inc;the name was created from the two words“Seat Technology.†Setex is a tier-one supplier of seat systems to many popular Honda and Acura vehicles and employees over 500 workers mixed between hourly and salary. The plant sits quietly in my hometown of St.Marys, Ohio. Setex is a very unique place that it is a joint venture company, meaning that there are two separate parent companies,one from the United States and the other from Japan. I thought this unique distinction would make for an interesting observation when it comes to identifying organizational cultures as the company has both American and Japanese influences. The landscaping is always flawless, the building and windows always clean, and the most surprising aspect is the lack of noise that many factories are plagued with.
